KICK - (Ki)ara Tymec and Ni(ck) Pales: A team and powerhouse couple who are highly experienced in all things props, costumes and practical effects.

Their combined skilled include but are not limited to: 3D Modeling and Sculpting, CAD, 3D Printing, Programming, Advanced Electronics, Mechanical Design, Prep and Finish Work, Woodworking, Painting, Illustration, Graphic Design, and Foamwork. See our Portfolio for examples of these!

Kiara Tymec

Kiara has been building and designing props and costumes since 2018 - a passion that was born at a young age and bloomed when she decided to major in Engineering. Soon after, she discovered her love for practical effects in film, and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree for Production Design in Film and Television at Columbia College Chicago in 2023. Kiara utilizes her background of mechanical engineering and creative problem solving to make the “impossible” real.

nicholas pales

Nick is a mixed media artist with a focus on costume construction and specialty prop fabrication. He graduated from Columbia College Chicago in May of 2022 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Summa Cum Laude, in Film and Television. Using his skills in 3D modeling, patternmaking, foam fabrication, and 3D printing, he is dedicated to effectively bringing fiction to reality.
